Sustainability at Booking.com
At Booking.com, we want to make it easier for everyone to experience the world. We also believe we have a responsibility to make sure there is always a world worth experiencing.
We are committed to making it easier for travellers to book sustainable trips
We will use our scale, working together with our partners, to increase the number of sustainable travel experiences on our products and make millions of customers more aware of the sustainable choices now available to them.
Working in unison with our partners, we know we can achieve our goal of easier sustainable travel for everyone. But it's not just partners we're collaborating with, it's our industry peers too. Booking.com is a founding member of Travalyst, a not-for-profit organisation made up of leading travel companies working together to make travel a catalyst for good in the world. We work in partnership with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council to find a collective solution to making travel more sustainable. We're also a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, created by the UNWTO, UNEP and Ellen MacArthur Foundation with the aim to end global plastic pollution in tourism.
“We are proud of the different ways we are already contributing to making it easier for everyone to travel more sustainably, including the launch of our Travel Sustainable Program and Badge in 2021. As the need to address the detrimental effects of climate change becomes more urgent than ever before, our climate commitments are another pioneering step in making our vision of a more sustainable travel future a reality.” Glenn Fogel, CEO Booking.com and Booking Holdings.
